Susan Jane Martin

Susan J. Martin (Sherman) 60, of Providence, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Bruce W. Martin. They were happily married for 25 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Claire (Lopes) Sherman.  

Susan was a woman of immense wisdom and kindness. She was also a woman devoted to her faith, family, friends, and most of all her children and grandchildren. Her proudest accomplishment in life was the family that she built and the love she bestowed upon them. Her legacy of love will forever be present, as it shall be passed on generation to generation. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Susan M. Sherman and Angelique L. Martin as well as her son-in-law Luis A. Alvarado ll. 

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Aridanie A. Alvarado, Nardiea M. Alvarado, Luis A. Alvarado lll and Xavier A. Alvarado; brothers , Ronald A. Lopes and Anthony F. Lopes and sisters, Constance M. Monteiro and Bernadette M. Sherman.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 14* at 10am in St. Ann's Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Monday, 4-7pm.
