Pono, Vincent T. “Sonny” 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan E. (McGee) Pono.
Born in New York City, he was the devoted son of the late Cesario and Lucia (Romano) Pono.
Sonny owned and operated Eagle Drain Plumbing & Heating for many years before retiring. After his retirement, he was a General Manager and Social Director of the Gardner Building, Providence. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. Sonny was a pillar of strength for his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Joan Pono Cerullo and her husband Joseph Cerullo and sisters, Jane Williams and Lucille Pono. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gloria Nappa and Chester Pono.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 21st at 8am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Pius V Church, Eaton St. Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7pm.
