DiOrio, Rosemarie (Santoro), 78, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 peacefully at home. She was the beloved wife of Domenic DiOrio Jr.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Rose (D’Amelia) Santoro.
Mrs. DiOrio was the School Business Manager at the Lakeville/Freetown MA. Regional School Department, the Milford MA Regionals Schools, the Oxford MA School Department and the Dighton/Rehoboth MA Regional Schools. She was also employed by the Massachusetts Department of Education and was a member of the Educational Leadership Team. Mrs. DiOrio was a member and former President of the Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO). She actively volunteered and lectured at Our Lady of Grace Church in Johnston, Rhode Island. Mrs. DiOrio was a member of the Mt. Pleasant High School Reunion Team as well.
Besides her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her two daughters: Alicia DiOrio Hanson of Johnston and her husband David, and Elena DiOrio Morgans of West Union SC. She was the grandmother to several cherished grandchildren: Dr. Rachel and Capt. Daniel Kennedy of El Paso, TX, Sydney Morgans, and David and Jillian Hanson. She was the sister of the late Albert C. Santoro Jr.
Mrs. DiOrio is also survived by her faithful companion, Enzo, her beloved dog. She enjoyed reading, spending time in her garden, baking for the holidays, and spending time on the beach. But above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 4th at 8:45am from the A.A MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St., Johnston. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be Sunday 4-7pm.
